Carriers of the Message

Supporting Scriptures
• Acts 10:3–6
• Acts 10:34–36
• Romans 10:14–15

Opening Thought
When an angel appeared to Cornelius, a Roman centurion seeking truth, the angel didn’t preach the gospel. He simply gave directions: “Send for Peter.” Salvation didn’t come through a celestial being, but through a flawed fisherman transformed by Christ. Heaven has chosen a surprising delivery system — redeemed humans become carriers of eternal hope.

Historical & Biblical Foundation
This moment in Acts is not poetic imagination; it is a documented turning point in history where the gospel cracked open the walls between Jews and Gentiles. Peter’s message didn’t just save a family — it launched the global mission of the Church. From fishermen to tentmakers, from persecutors turned apostles to unnamed disciples — ordinary people became messengers of extraordinary grace. God’s mission strategy is unmistakable: the message travels best through lives that have been rescued by it.

Quotes That Illuminate
D.L. Moody once remarked humbly, “The world has yet to see what God can do with a man fully consecrated to Him.” Peter proved how a surrendered life can redirect nations.
Gladys Aylward, who carried the gospel deep into China, similarly testified through her life that “Not my ability, but my availability” is what God needs. Their stories whisper the same truth: God doesn’t ask for perfection — just a willing voice.

Conclusion of the Theme
Christmas declares that God came near — now His people go out. Angels may announce, stars may point, but humans proclaim salvation. We are not only recipients of the message; we are its couriers. The gospel is too good to be kept quiet.

Challenge for Today
Many believers admire the message but struggle to share it. Fear, comfort, distraction — these mute the voice of the Church. Some wait for angels or miracles to do the talking, forgetting heaven already decided: the good news moves through us. The world won’t hear if we don’t speak. Christmas asks a piercing question: Are we still delivering the message — or merely decorating it?
