Writing to remember, sharing to inspire

Genesis 43-45; Luke 15

The story began with famine, but it ends with a feast. From Egypt’s granaries to a father’s front yard, from the pit to the palace, from shame to song — grace has been setting the table all along. Every act of reconciliation in Scripture is really a rehearsal for one meal — the one where God Himself sits at the head, and no one is missing.

Joseph’s brothers found their place again at a table they thought they had forfeited. The prodigal found his way home to a feast he did not deserve. And we, too, are wanderers — hungry for peace, aching for belonging, hesitant to believe that the invitation still stands. Yet the table remains set. The bread is still warm. The seat still bears your name.

Forgiveness, in the end, is not just divine virtue — it is divine hospitality. It opens its doors to the undeserving and says, “You are still family.” The same God who turned betrayal into banquet now invites us to do the same: to feed instead of fight, to serve instead of judge, to prepare a table instead of building a wall.

If we listen closely, every church bell, every act of kindness, every moment of undeserved mercy is an echo of that great invitation: “Come home.” The road may be long, but Love has already run halfway to meet you. The robe is waiting. The music is ready. The feast is about to begin.

The God of Joseph still reigns, and the Father of the prodigal still runs. Heaven’s heart has not changed. And even now, across the famine of our modern world — a world hungry for grace, weary from division — the call remains steady and sure:
The table still awaits.

Come home.

Conclusion

“Perhaps the truest worship is not in the songs we sing, nor in the doctrines we defend, but in the quiet act of tasting grace and sharing it. For whoever delights in the Father’s feast will never run out of love for his brothers — only more bread to break, and more hearts to heal.”

yes we should all sit around a huge table and break bread, and be peaceful.
